Frequently Asked Questions.

Many questions are answered here, but feel free to contact us if you require any additional information.

01

What sizes are available for your Geodesic Greenhouses?

Our Geodesic Domes will be available in many sizes depending on desire. We believe a 16ft-20ft diameter dome will yield enough growing space for a family and will likely be the most desirable size. For larger operations (schools, communities etc), custom designed sizes ranging up to 52ft will be available (though larger sizes will require cement footings).

02

Can you really grow food year-round?

Yes! Of course there are many variables to consider (south facing property, hours of sunlight per day, weather etc). There are additional technologies, however, that can always be utilized to hold more heat in a dome (aquaponics, tilapia, etc), as well as simple fossil-fuel options (like propane heaters) for cool nights.

03

How hot can these domes get and how do you recommend starting seeds in there?

In the domes you will be able to create micro-climates (some areas of the dome being a few degrees cooler/warmer) depending on your needs. In the domes (depending on desire) will be a water tank which modulates the heat of the dome, as well as acts as a thermal battery. Most dome owners will start their seeds above the tank during the winter to make use of the added warmth. How hot? Our technology is about storing heat above desired temperature (say 20 degrees C) and storing it in the soil. There are so many variables to deduce, but you could pin, theoretically, the highs and lows of your dome given ideal weather/orientation conditions. Grow lights - yes. *We are spending a lot of resources researching this*

04

Do I need a building permit for these domes? Can they be built in the city?

Yes, they can be built in the city. Yes, anything about 100 sqft equivalent is forced into a permit scenario. We have people available that can help with the permitting process. The onus of legality will be with the purchaser as the laws will vary from place to place, however.

If there is any issue, we suggest checking with local authorities prior to purchasing.
